PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police have arrested two men for a series of burglaries in South Philadelphia and Center City.
Lt. John Stanford says they were quite a busy pair of burglars, until they were caught in the act by patrol officers attempting to force open a door to a saloon just before dawn last Thursday.
“Thursday the 23rd, 3rd District officers in the location of 750 S. 7th Street see these two gentlemen attempting to break into that location,” Stanford said.
Not long after 24-year-old Tony Kimhong and Chhoeuth Kim were taken into custody, Stanford says they confessed to burglarizing 12 other businesses, mostly restaurants and taverns, half of them along East Passyunk Avenue.
“The first reported happened on April 30th,” Stanford says, “then you had one in May and the rest in June and July.”
